Digital Camera Day

You have a digital camera at your disposal!

Use it for:

·        Taking digital pictures of activities and field trips for your web site

·        Take digital pictures of the scientific process (or any process) and then print pictures and have the students put the process in order

·        Have students take digital pictures of themselves holding the book they are doing a report on to put in a PowerPoint

·        Have students take pictures dressed up as a famous person that they are researching

·        Let students demonstrate idioms and other students take pictures of the demonstrations (later add them all to a class PowerPoint on idioms)

·        Take short mini clips for movie maker movies

·        Let students create character ed (or any learning process) movies using still clips and Movie Maker

·        Take pictures of students’ writing or art work for easy upload onto your web site

·        Students go outside and take pictures of real world items that show geometric shapes. Use the Paint Program on the computer in the lab for kids to “Paint” over the picture to show shapes

·        Take funny pictures of top scoring kids for your web site (Math Nerds, History Buffs, Spelling Superstars)

·        Take digital pictures during a personal vacation to an educational place. Show them in your classroom as a virtual field trip

·        Take digital pictures of the kids put them up on the television and use them for story starters or to write sentences using the grammar you are currently teaching “create 3 sentences about this picture using compound sentence structure”

·        Have students create children’s fables or short stories. Use digital camera for illustrations.

·        Create a welcome to our school digital fieldtrip for new students to watch in the library or classroom. Take photos of the who’s who and what’s what. Put it together in PowerPoint or Movie Maker for a cool virtual tour.

·        Photo Scavenger hunt around the room. Take photos of things in the  classroom and have students work to find those items. (pencil sharpener, make up work, first aid kit, centers…)
